Over a month after filing court documents in Los Angeles County, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has publicly announced her intention to change her name. The legal notice, published in the Los Angeles Times for several weeks, reveals her desire to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

California law mandates that anyone petitioning for a name change must publish the order to show cause form in a newspaper for at least four consecutive weeks before the court date to avoid delays in the process. Shiloh’s proposed name change has been appearing weekly since June 17.

Shiloh, who turned 18 on May 27, filed the paperwork on May 30 to legally drop “Pitt” from her name. The reasons for her decision remain private.

Despite her famous parents, Shiloh has managed to keep a relatively low profile. Recently, she was seen accompanying her mother on the red carpet at the Tony Awards in New York City.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce proceedings began in 2016, with a judge declaring them legally single in 2019. However, their divorce is still not finalized. The couple shares six children: Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16). They have faced ongoing legal battles over custody and disputes related to their business interests and properties, including a French winery.

The hearing for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s name change is scheduled for July 29.
