According to recent updates from our sources, friends, and families in Dhaka, we’ve learned that with the rising death toll and curfews imposed, authorities have issued shoot-on-sight orders.
With armed forces, police, the RAB (Rapid Action Battalion), and the BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) on the streets, the situation has escalated as indiscriminate shooting has taken place. According to our sources, hundreds of regular people have passed away. The police, RAB, and BGB have opened fire on everyone.
The shootings are not a form of crowd control but direct headshots. People, civilians, and protesters, whoever is in sight, are being shot either in the head or chest. The general public has also appeared with arms; how they obtained the guns is still questioned. The rising count of dead bodies on the streets has created a dreadful situation for travelers.
