Samsung has officially introduced the Samsung Galaxy Ring, entering a nascent market with limited competition. This leaves room for innovative design and features. The ring sports a concave exterior, reflecting light in an intriguing way, available only in glossy finishes. Its Titanium finish and 10ATM water resistance ensure durability and scratch resistance.
The Galaxy Ring integrates seamlessly with Samsung Health and doesn’t require a subscription, unlike many other devices. It utilizes a unique sensor array and AI algorithm to monitor sleep patterns, providing metrics like sleep movement, latency, and heart/respiratory rates. This functionality mirrors the Galaxy Watch series but is more comfortable for sleep tracking. Additionally, it offers cycle tracking, a sought-after feature.
For heart rate monitoring, the ring offers two methods: a heart rate alert system for abnormal BPM levels and a “live heart rate check” for on-demand readings. A distinctive gesture function allows users to control compatible Galaxy phones by pinching fingers together, enabling actions like taking photos and dismissing alarms.
The Galaxy Ring promises a seven-day battery life, minimizing the need for frequent charging, and includes a quick charging case (details on charging speeds are not provided). Available in Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold, the Galaxy Ring starts at $399. Samsung will send a $10 sizing kit, which is applied to the final purchase price, ensuring a perfect fit.
