Aerosmith has officially ended their touring career. The band announced on Friday that they have canceled all remaining concert dates due to singer Steven Tyler’s vocal cord injury, making recovery impossible.

“It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours,” the band shared in a heartfelt social media post, signaling their farewell.

Aerosmith was in the midst of their “Peace Out… Farewell Tour” when their tour came to an abrupt halt after a final performance in Elmont, NY on Sept. 9, 2023. This show, just three dates into the tour, marked the end of what was planned to continue through February 2024. The band initially postponed, and now, has canceled all remaining dates.

Leading up to this final tour, Aerosmith had been actively performing, including a residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas and a special 50th anniversary show at Boston’s Fenway Park last year.

While the statement did not address whether Tyler might overcome his vocal issues enough to allow for future recordings, it’s notable that the band hasn’t released new music since their 2012 album, “Music From Another Dimension!” Tyler also released a solo album in 2016.
